About PlanMatch
Last updated: June 20, 2026
In plain terms: PlanMatch is a free, privately-owned resource that helps you understand insurance and compare your options. We are not a government agency, and we are not connected with or endorsed by Medicare or any insurer.

Who we are
PlanMatch is operated by Benefits Life, a privately-owned, independent insurance comparison website. We help people understand their coverage options — Medicare, health, dental, life, and more — and compare the plans available to them, then connect with licensed insurance agents who can answer questions and help them enroll.
We are not an insurance company, and we are not the government. Our job is to make a confusing subject clearer so you can make an informed choice.
Our editorial standards
The information on PlanMatch is written to be clear, accurate, and current. A few principles guide how we produce it:
- Primary sources. Our Medicare content is built from official references — the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Federal Register, and the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) — rather than secondhand summaries.
- Updated every year. Medicare’s premiums, deductibles, and limits change annually. We refresh our figures as CMS releases new amounts, and each page notes when it was last reviewed.
- Reviewed by a licensed agent. Our content is overseen and reviewed for accuracy by Scott Stafford, a licensed insurance agent and the President of Benefits Life, who works with these plans every day.
- No steering. We don’t use carrier names or push you toward a particular plan. The goal is to help you understand the choices and decide for yourself.
How we make money
PlanMatch is free to use. We are compensated when we connect you with a licensed insurance agent or a partner in our network. That never costs you anything, and it does not change the information we provide or the plans we describe.
Our relationship to the government
PlanMatch is not connected with or endorsed by the U.S. government or the federal Medicare program. We do not offer every plan available in your area, and any plan information we provide is limited to what our partners offer.
To review every option, you can always contact Medicare directly at Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227, TTY 1-877-486-2048), or reach your State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) for free, unbiased counseling.
