Formulary
A formulary is the list of prescription drugs a Part D or Medicare Advantage drug plan covers. Plans organize covered drugs into tiers, which determine how much you pay for each one.
Every drug plan has its own formulary, so the same medication can be covered differently from plan to plan. Before choosing a plan, it's worth checking that your specific drugs are on the formulary and seeing which tier they fall in. Formularies can change year to year, which is one reason to review your Part D coverage each fall.
