Part B (Medical Insurance)
Part B is Medicare's medical insurance. It helps pay for doctor visits, outpatient care, preventive services, lab tests, and durable medical equipment. Nearly everyone pays a monthly premium for Part B.
In 2026 the standard Part B premium is $202.90 a month, with a $283 annual deductible and then a 20% share of many services. Higher earners pay an income surcharge called IRMAA on top. Part B pairs with Part A to make up Original Medicare.
